Okay, so I'm not creepy, nor am I hairy or old...or a man. But I have found a great new love. The sauna. It all started last Thursday when I was swimming laps, for every other lap left me looking at the sauna's. As I contemplated the use for 80 laps, I finally resolved to using it. Now, I can't stop!
I have done some research to support my love for the sauna (of the steam room sort). Why Sauna? Well, it helps with your respiratory system, increases blood flow, some other stuff, and detoxifies your body. So, for a few days I'm looking like I'm in high school because the sauna is detoxifying my face...hey zits, hey. This is the only time in my life I've been kinda okay with zits because after I have used the sauna enough that my face is dezitted then I will have a beautifully glowing face. (I'm sure nobody wanted to read about my zits, sorry).
Not only does the sauna provide great health benefits, but it also makes me feel like I don't need to be social. Why, you ask? I seem to have made a friend every time I've been in the sauna. Are they those creepy, hairy, old men? Yep. Do I care? Not even a little bit. Nobody can ruin my love for the steam room infused with eucalyptus oil. HEAVENLY. Seriously, there is totally eucalyptus oil in Heaven. I just know it.
However, today I did stay in the steam room (yes, I'm using steam room and sauna interchangeably.) for a little too long. I usually chill for 10 to 15 minutes before my body screams in my face. Today I didn't listen to my body for a couple minutes and definitely overstayed my welcome. I got out and had to sit down for 5 minutes until I cooled off and got undizzy. Oops :)
Oh steam room, see you tomorrow. Can't wait. It's like my motivational reward after swimming laps, "Today, I can't use the steam room until I've swam ________ laps."
