So I've started a new trend since summer...working out. Epic concept right? I had to figure something out since I wasn't at the pool every day where I was able to swim laps whenever I darn well pleased. So, when summer ended, I got my booty into gear and got myself a gym membership. The first important thing I did was to make goals...hmm. I've never been good at this.
Goal 1: Run 2 consistent miles, NO stopping, by Halloween.
Goal 2: Look dang freakin good.
Goal 3: Get a bikini body, even if I'm not gonna wear one.
I suck at achieving goals myself, so I've decided to try out some classes at the gym. Yesterday, I did an RPM class, a fancy way of saying a Spin class, or a cycling class. It was awesome, kicked my butt, but by golly I was gonna be able to jump, aka stand up on the bike like going up a hill, by the end of class. And I did it! I will go to RPM again, possibly on a weekly basis. I really liked it.
Today, I went to BodyFlow, a yoga/pilates class. I felt so ridiculous, but I sucked it up and did it! And dangit, I had fun. Tomorrow? BodyCombat. Sounds so legit, I'm slightly afraid. But super excited.
People probably don't care about my new workout habits, but I figure if I write them down I'll be able to remind myself on those days that I am dreading the gym that I actually love working out! That's right, you read that correctly, I love working out!

The Year of the Fecal
I cannot believe that it is already June 16th. It's been approximately a month and a half since my last blog post.
Let me explain The Year of the Fecal. Stapley Pool has had 6 fecals in the pool, and 3 fecals on deck. All but one have happened while I was there. I am the poop magnet. Awesome. Despite the poo, summer is going good. Staying extra super duper crazy busy with lots and lots of work and full time school. Super great. I take every chance I get (they are few and far between) to do absolutely nothing. In my absolutely nothing time I watch Flashpoint. One of the greatest tv shows on Netflix. And if you disagree...I...will...fight you. Yep that's right.
Short blog post, but time to do nothing. Yesssssss.
Peace and Blessings.

I'm that creepy, hairy, old man that sits in the sauna...

Okay, so I'm not creepy, nor am I hairy or old...or a man. But I have found a great new love. The sauna. It all started last Thursday when I was swimming laps, for every other lap left me looking at the sauna's. As I contemplated the use for 80 laps, I finally resolved to using it. Now, I can't stop!
I have done some research to support my love for the sauna (of the steam room sort). Why Sauna? Well, it helps with your respiratory system, increases blood flow, some other stuff, and detoxifies your body. So, for a few days I'm looking like I'm in high school because the sauna is detoxifying my face...hey zits, hey. This is the only time in my life I've been kinda okay with zits because after I have used the sauna enough that my face is dezitted then I will have a beautifully glowing face. (I'm sure nobody wanted to read about my zits, sorry).
Not only does the sauna provide great health benefits, but it also makes me feel like I don't need to be social. Why, you ask? I seem to have made a friend every time I've been in the sauna. Are they those creepy, hairy, old men? Yep. Do I care? Not even a little bit. Nobody can ruin my love for the steam room infused with eucalyptus oil. HEAVENLY. Seriously, there is totally eucalyptus oil in Heaven. I just know it.
However, today I did stay in the steam room (yes, I'm using steam room and sauna interchangeably.) for a little too long. I usually chill for 10 to 15 minutes before my body screams in my face. Today I didn't listen to my body for a couple minutes and definitely overstayed my welcome. I got out and had to sit down for 5 minutes until I cooled off and got undizzy. Oops :)
Oh steam room, see you tomorrow. Can't wait. It's like my motivational reward after swimming laps, "Today, I can't use the steam room until I've swam ________ laps."

Dearest Chocolate, Don't Say You Weren't Warned.
A. I have the greatest job ever. Why?
because of B. My kids are hilariously witty. I must be teaching them well.
Case in point. C. Since giving up brown carbonated soda I have picked up eating chocolate. I love chocolate. It's delicious. Especially Reese's cups. And don't even get me started on Butterfinger Eggs. Anyways. My kids have coined some awesome phrases and have dedicated them to my behalf and chocolates.
Phrase number one:
Miss Hailee is chocolates worst nightmare.
Phrase number two:
There is a mayor of chocolate, and the mayor is going to sue you!
Phrase number three:
(Background story: Hey, (student) look at all the chocolate I got for my birthday!)
RUN, CHOCOLATE, RUN!!!!
That's right, you're now all officially jealous of how excellent my job is.
Also, I have begun working at As You Wish. It's excellent. You can all be even more jealous of that.
Love,
Hailee

First day of Spring Break...and I'm sick!
So about a week ago, I made this deal with my body. It was as follows: Listen body, if you insist on getting sick, PLEASE hold off until Spring Break so I can get paid for this week. Well, it seems as though my body held up it's end of the deal. Dangit. It's extraordinarily possible that I fell asleep at 10pm last night and awoke at 9:22am with a sore throat worse than last nights sore throat. Lovely. I'm so excited that my body kept up it's end of the bargain. Now just to cross my fingers that it doesn't continue getting worse, how bad would that suck? A lot...

Girls Scouts are my heros. And I'm chocolates worst nightmare.

Today, today, today. Although I woke up feeling ill..dang scratchy throat. And don't worry, I'm frightened for the next 3 days, I've had a plethora of students out for days at a time because of an illness that started out as a scratchy throat. What does this illness entail you ask? 104 degree temperatures, vomiting, exhaustion. YIKES! Crossing my fingers that the monster stays away.
Now for the real reason I'm writing. GIRL SCOUTS ARE MY HEROS. I totally purchased 1 box of Samoas, and 1 box of Thin Mints that I received via order and delivery a week ago. I was completely satisfied with my decision to buy only 2 boxes. But those daggum Samoas were gone in freakin 3 days. So then today, I had to go to Safeway to get Simply Orange and bananas...after all I need to nurse myself to maximum health. I parked and saw them..those rascally boogers...girl scouts. I walked past them upon entering Safeway scott free. Then when I walked into Safeway they were having their ridiculous sales that I find hard to say no to. And naturally they had a huge display of Cheese Nips in the doorway. My weakness. Don't even get me started on the Cheese Nips/CheezIts debate. So then I walked through out the store to ponder the remaining sales. $3.19 for a flat of water bottles. Sold to the girl in purple and black glasses. I walked away with a decent amount of groceries. Amid all these great sales, my brain TOTALLY spaced on the whole girl scouts outside the door thing. Dangit. I walk out and as soon as the doors slid open.."Do you wanna..." They didn't even need to finish their sales pitch. I was sold. I told them I would buy a box of the BEST cookies. Luckily for the girl in front, she guessed it. She picked up that precious purple box of Samoa goodness. Peace out Girl Scout. Thanks for the cookies.
Today my students told me I was chocolate's worst nightmare. I think they must see me eating chocolate a lot or something? Haha. Favorite line of the year.
I need to complete homework, and those delicious cookies in the purplicious box are calling my name.
Peace out, Girl Scout.

Ever heard of a great Monday?
So ya, this post is about more than just Monday, but whatever. And ya, this first paragraph is me bragging for myself, but sometimes it's completely necessary. Skip this paragraph if you don't like people patting themselves on the back.
Monday- So yesterday I had to be observed during a read aloud, which I do all the time, but being observed by a professor who is a well respected retired educational administrator is very nerve wracking. So he came in, I showed him around the school because we had some time to kill before my observation. I showed him MY classroom, and introduced him to the teacher who is in charge of the Reading Lab. Good, good. Brownie points? Possibly. Then it was time for read aloud observation. I read a book about bees because their story for the week was Busy Buzzy Bees. Good book, educational, and yes, I skipped the mating page...first graders and bees mating just don't work well together. Anyways, so read aloud went well, I prewalked the book, checked for comprehension throughout blah blah blah. Then, the BEST part of the day! He gave me extraordinarily wonderful compliments. He may have said that it was one of the best read alouds he has ever observed and possibly that I will be a teacher of the year one year. :) And he offered me a letter of recommendation. SCORE!
Okay, done bragging :) Thanks for reading that.
And so what if I continued my Monday with a visit to As You Wish? Whatevs. NBD really. Movie quote plate: epic. And I can hardly wait for my new ideas of plates, I'm gonna be one busy girl!
Today my snack of choice all day has been a bag with the combination of miniature saltines, Mickey Mouse cheese, and honey ham. I'm pretty much genius. This combinations is AWESOME.
Also, I rearranged my bedroom. I'm not sure that I like it, but there is just a cleansing feeling when I rearrange a room. It feels so refreshing :)
Peace and Blessings.
